As mentioned previously, there are two cost elements to register each LPA
- The first is for the service we provide. This is for the completion and pre-check of your forms. This is to ensure that they are correct based on the information you provide to us. We will provide guidance for signing the forms and provide a further check before they are sent to OPG.
- The second charge is made by OPG to register the LPA. Some people are eligible for reduced or free registration. There may be additional costs if there are problems with the forms. Note that these fees are non-refundable.
The fee as at May 2024 is £82 per LPA registration
There are circumstances for reduced fees. You may be eligible for a reduction or exemption. You must complete form LPA120 and provide proof of eligibility.
- If you have low income (less than £12,000 per year) you might be eligible for a 50% discount.
- If you can show that you are receiving certain income-related benefits you won’t have to pay anything to register the LPA.

Exemption – when a donor doesn’t have to pay because they get certain means-tested benefits
Remission – a 50% fee reduction based on a donor’s financial circumstances or a reduction based on the donor receiving Universal Credit
